About the author:
Norbert Schneider (born 1945) is Professor of Art History at the University of Karlsruhe. His fields of work include the art history of the Middle Ages and early modern times (with a special emphasis on the history of types of painting: still life, portrait, landscape and genre painting), the methodology of art studies and questions related to the history of philosophy.
